David P. Morales, Esq.
David P. Morales is the Firmís principal attorney and he personally oversees all matters handled by the Firm. Prior to entering the law, Mr. Morales received a degree in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned a graduate degree in Economic Policy at Princeton University. After a brief career in international development and engineering, Mr. Morales entered the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he received extensive training in intellectual property law, international transactions and was one of seventeen graduates to earn a Certificate in Taxation Law.
Following law school, Mr. Morales served as a Staff Attorney with the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, where he handled a variety of intellectual property, taxation, civil rights and immigration appeals. Mr. Morales then practiced intellectual property and business law with two of the leading firms of the Central Coast. Mr. Morales has experience litigating patent, trademark and copyright matters in the United States District Courts in several states, as well as before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. As outside counsel, Mr. Morales is experienced in employment matters, labor contract negotiations, business and technology transactions, taxation, bankruptcy and commercial litigation.
Mr. Morales is a member of the Intellectual Property Section of the California State Bar, and presently serves as Vice-Chairperson of its Trade Secrets Committee. Mr. Morales is admitted to practice before the United States Federal Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the California Supreme Court.
